Our Field Trip to…

……The Fire Station!!

Yes, this afternoon we had a field trip!  The children were
excited to go and they all had such an enjoyable time!  We went
with our homeschool group.  All the children were split into
groups according to ages, so I was with the boys the whole time.
The girls did well with being on their own with their group, at first
they wanted to come with me, but I told them that they would learn more
if they went with their age group.  They both were glad they did
and they talked about all they learned and saw all evening.

Here Nathaniel and a number of other boys and girls are learning about what fire men do.  🙂

I was able to go back after and take a picture of  3 of my
children in by the police car, while we waited for Sarah's group to
finish.  I didn't have my camera with me for the first part with
the ambulance or police car.  Nathaniel was able to go into the
ambulance and hear the lady talk about the things inside etc…
You can see part of it in the picture at least.  Then  we
visited the police car and listened to the police man talk about what
he does etc…  He was really good with talking to the little ones
too and let them try on police clothes and showed them the flashing
lights etc…

Rebecca and Nathaniel by the big fire truck.  Nathaniel was being silly with hiding his face.

Here Benjamin is having such fun with Nathaniel's fireman hat!  🙂

Still having fun with it too.  🙂

Ok, now Sarah standing by the fire truck.

I was going to take a picture of all 4 of the children by the front of
the fire truck, but just as I was getting them to stand there, the
signal went off letting the fire men know they had to go to a fire and
so here they are driving away.  Thankfully, we were all done and
it was sort of a nice way to end the field trip.  Just hope is
wasn't a serious emergency they had to go too.  Anyway,  the
children got to see the lights flashing and hear the sirens  as
the truck drove off.

The end!  🙂

  1. It sounds like you all did have a great time. Wow! That was a great way to end the field trip. I think getting to see the “action” is what most kids live for. They will likely remember that for a long time.
    Love & Blessings,
    (: Amanda 🙂

  2. The s love seeing the pictures on your blog as well as I do, they would have enjoyed that field trip too.
    (I love Rebecca’s coat :))

  3. It was a great field trip! Today the children spent time colouring in the colouring books they were given yesterday while we were there. 🙂
