Monday’s Making Your Home a Haven Challenge

Another Monday has come and so has Crystal’s Challenge!

1) Refresh your spirit.
Had a few refreshing moments in God’s Word and in prayer.

2) Tackle Your Morning Routine.
I would like my morning routine to consist of:

1. Myself dressed and hair done
2. Prepare breakfast
3. comb girls hair
4. little ones dressed
5. check up on chores
6. Quiet time and make a basic plan for the day
Done!!

3) Take time to plan.
1. School
2. clean top of fridge
3. vacuum main level
4. wash floor
5. tidy kitchen
6. plan menu for week
7. make granola  – now baking

4) What’s for Lunch!
(we have our main meal for lunch)

Today we had a Lebanese Lentils, homemade yogurt and a salad.

5) Do something! (10 minutes)
We’re working in the kitchen today! Light a candle, put on your apron, turn on some uplifting music, and then set the timer for ten minutes (this job might take a bit longer, though!) and get busy! I’m going to be wiping down the countertops and the outside of the cupboards, cleaning the table and chairs, doing a quick clean of the microwave and refrigerator, and straightening some of the cupboards and drawers.

Today’s project went along the same lines I needed to accomplish today.  The Kitchen floor is in dire need of a good washing and the top of the fridge had collected quite a bit of clutter.  I couldn’t do everything Crystal meantioned in her challenge, but I did was was most needed in my kitchen today.  I  wiped down the cupboards last month.  Now I know our chairs could use a good wipe down, maybe another day this week, the children and I will tackle that job.

I was also planning to make granola today too.

Now for some pictures….

Messy kitchen here this morning

Me busy at work.  My little boy came up to me and wondered if he could take a picture of me, so here it is. 🙂

A clean kitchen here now

I find Mondays a busy day here.  I guess after the weekend we are getting back into the normal routine.  Anyway, I must go and vacuum and wash the floors!

Blessings to you as you make your home a haven!

  1. I am really very good at making lists. I'd almost consider myself an expert. However…..I'm not so good at actually accomplishing things on the list! Lol, I can make lists galore, and for others too! Heheh, maybe I need to put a bit more time on actually doing the things on the lists!

  2. It looks like you had a very productive day! I did manage to get some things done too. I will be tackling the kitchen today. Thanks for sharing your day. The pics of the boys are too cute and that's a pretty good shot of you too.
