Summer flowers

I feel like a broken record, but it is true, such busy days we are having! I don’t think it will slow down anytime soon either. With some children going out to school, some being homeschool, some in music lessons, others in choir, I just don’t see how it will slow down. Once the garden is all done, there will be time for some other things, I imagine. I’m really looking forward to snuggling a new baby this winter, so I know slower days are coming!

In garden news, it wasn’t our best year. The garden started out really looking great, but our tomatoes were hit by a blight and we only got to eat one nice tomato. The rest turned black before they had a chance to ripen. 😦 Pickling cucumbers and the green, yellow and purple beans did well. Corn was not to bad, although our puppy was raiding the patch before we did, so needless to say, we didn’t get as much as we could have. Carrot and potatoes still need to be dug up, oh and there are peppers still out there and some squashes yet.

Here are a few pictures of the flowers growing in the garden. πŸ™‚

Such beautiful sunflowers!! I hardly planted any this year, but I still enjoy an abundant crop of them. I was even pulling out them as weeds. Such cheery looking flowers, I love them! πŸ™‚

With the late start and then the hail, these morning glories still did well. They are now reaching to the top of the trellis! I’m going to have to take another picture!

So that is a bit of the beauty that is in the garden. It has gotten overgrown with some weeds, but we are hoping to start preparing the garden for winter and getting it cleaned up in ready for next year. I had thoughts of doing a fall garden, but being 33 weeks pregnant, that thought has gone out the window.

Blessings!
